I connected it to my new HD TV using the HDMI cable and the Pioneer solved problem of pixelated picture. I really did some research when looking in to upconvert DVD players. I was all set to go with a Samsung unit, but then I saw this Pioneer player advertised on sale here. This unit has 1080P upscale compared to 1080i from Samsung and it is DivX compatible. And it also has USB input. This unit plays every thing just plain GREAT. I highly recommend this Pioneer DVD player! And its really a bargain for $115
