Combining the seriousness of a violent life in the ghetto with the juvenile antics of the Insane Clown Posse doesn't quite sound like a formula for success, but Detroit rapper and ICP affiliate Blaze somehow made it work for 2001's 1 LESS G IN DA HOOD. This 2006 reissue changes up the track order, excising a handful of tracks by other Juggalo family members and restoring more of Blaze's own compositions. Blaze's tales are as glamorous as they are grim, and with the juxtaposition of cartoonish, macabre offerings like "Maggot Face" and "Hatchet Luv" against drug-slinging confessionals such as "I Go To Work," 1 LESS G IN DA HOOD delivers a suitably horrifying tone that will appeal to fans of Angry J and Shaggy 2 Dope.
