Four Star Playhouse: The Gift
Charles Boyer plays Carl Baxter, a disappointed businessman who "humbugs" especially hard at Christmastime, resenting the displays of kindness, love and generosity that abound in the rest of humanity. Even his wife Minna (Maureen O'Sullivan) seems to betray him with her Christmas cheer.

Grudgingly, Carl signs Christmas bonuses for his employees but turns away a charity. After seeing a poor woman do everything she can to give orphans a Christmas to remember, will Carl have a chance of heart?

Four Star Playhouse: The Answer
Bart (Anthony Caruso), a Hollywood writer gone cynical, returns to his hometown. There he meets a stranger in a bar-a stranger not too different from him-disillusioned and drunk. The stranger happens to be a playwright. His name is Deacon (David Niven) and he claims he knows everything.

Strangely enough, Bart trusts him but challenges Deacon to put his money where his mouth is. So, in the bar with the patrons' rapt attention, the stranger recites an entire play he wrote. After that, peoples' lives will never be quite the same.

Meet Corliss Archer: The Christmas Story
Corliss and her ever-present boyfriend Dexter (Ann Baker, Bobby Ellis) decide that this Christmas they will make gifts for everyone. Meanwhile, Corliss's father Harry (John Eldridge) has busily decorated the house for the big day. Mary searches for her gift, which Harry has already hidden. Watch as Christmas turns into a free for all as the crew manages to trash the decorations, tree, and gifts without dampening their merry Christmas spirit.

Racket Squad: The Christmas Caper
Captain John Braddock (Reed Hadley) seeks to protect the citizens in a large city from those who prey upon them with confidence games. One such case involves a Mr. Dewley, an elderly man with a soft spot in his heart for needy children. A charity called "Society for the Deserving Poor Children" asks the kindly man to play Santa Claus to help raise funds. Captain Braddock is called in to investigate when the money Mr. Dewley raises never reaches the kids. Will Mr. Dewley take the fall, or will the real bad guys get their comeuppance?

His friend refers him to an insurance company, but something about the company arouses Joe's suspicion. Captain Braddock steps in to learn the full story behind the company's true policies.

Scarlet Pimpernel: The Christmas Present
Sir Percy Blakeney (Marius Goring) wants to make Christmas special for Mrs. Burton. She longs to share Christmas with children, and Sir Percy knows where to find four youngsters whose happy voices will fill her London home with Christmas cheer. He brings the children to Mrs. Burton for a party and treats. However, amid all the celebration, Sir Percy, the Scarlet Pimpernel, receives an urgent message from France demanding all his attention.

Sherlock Holmes: The Case Of The Christmas Pudding
It's Christmastime in snow-clad London, and cheerful Sherlock Holmes (Ronald Howard) nails a holly wreath onto the famous doorway at 221B Baker Street. John Henry Norton, whom Holmes has helped convict of five murders, has just received a Christmas pudding baked by his sixth wife. Swearing vengeance on Holmes, Norton escapes, finds his way to Baker Street, kills a police officer, assumes his identity, and sneaks into Holmes' flat. He shoots the first person he sees.
