When I first learned to make these beautiful Christmas ornaments I just fell in love with them! They are so elegant and easy to make. They look as if they are quilted, but no sewing is required. Made on a 3" Styrofoam ball and depending on your choice of fabric or ribbon, the designs are endless. This auction is for the paper pattern plus the already cut cotton fabric to make this ball. This also includes the coordinating ribbon for the string holder and bows on top. I also include the decorative ball pin on top that holds the hanger ribbon. This will keep you from having to purchase the very expensive rotary cutter and plastic measuring board that is needed if you make more than one ball. The only additional things that you will need to purchase are the 3" Styrofoam ball, the straight pins and the Aleene's tacky glue. Any glue will work, but I like the tacky glue. Buying the fabric and ribbon can be very expensive and this can be a practice ball to see if you want to make more. I created this pattern a couple of years ago because every other ornament pattern that I found was hard to understand. After making many mistakes, I decided to create my own pattern. It's very detailed and easy to follow, step-by-step instructions with colorful drawings and my own helpful hints. I show you how to make the 3-layer and 4-layer balls with fabric and ribbon. The ribbon is sometimes folded differently from the fabric. I give you helpful hints on making the band on the side smooth, different ways to make the bow, plus much more.
