The first gauge is marked Sterling The Sterling MFG Co Cleveland, O patented Oct 3, 1916 on the front and on the back-made in USA PAT'D Oct 3, 1916. It is very dirty and has some wear, stains and lots of scratches. I cleaned it some but let it for the buyer to see if they wanted to scrub it. Both of these were found in my late father's tool chest. The glass insert has something like old glue stains at the bottom inside and either was cut to fit poorly or broken at the inside bottom-although I don't see how it could have been and not break the rest of the glass. This gauge is about 2 and1/4 inches wide and 2 and 3/4 tall.
The second one is marked on the front U.S. gauge for testing tires for balloon or standard tires U.S. gauge co. N.Y. I don't know how old either of these are. This one needs cleaned also and has wear. The cover is plastic and either came yellowed or got that way with age and has lot of scratches and scuffs on it-it looks better in the photo than in person-clearer and easier to read-at least to me. This gauge is about 2 inches tall and 3 and 1/4 wide.
I don't know if either of these works and have no way to test them. My father years ago had old cars-including a Model A Ford and maybe used these for their tires.
