Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea.
Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, 1952.  First Edition.

Copyright page shows the "A" and the Scribner's device. The author's blue-tinted photograph adorns the back of dust jacket and the $3.00 price is on the front flap.

Jacket is clean, tanned at spine, in new mylar. Wear includes a one-inch chip and brown tape mark at top of spine, and a 1.5-inch tear at top front edge. There are several tiny chips and tears along bottom edge.

Boards are pale blue with
silver lettering at spine and author's signature blind-stamped on front. Spine lightly tanned; silver is bright and complete, corners square but a bit rubbed at bottom.

Pages are tight. Page edges and endpapers lightly tanned. Gift inscription in green pen on front free endpaper dates from 1952. Back free endpaper shows "3.00" in soft pencil at top corner. I found no other marks in book.
