Aurora Sears-Only Mach 1 T-Jet Slot Car Set from 1970

This auction is a for an Aurora Thunderjet 500 Set No. 1980, the Sears-exclusive set "featuring the Alfa Romeo and Mustang Mach 1 Thunderjet racing cars." Unfortuately, this set was missing the Mach 1 when I acquired it. I am including the original Alfa Romeo for the set, along with a very nice '67 Mercury Cougar.

Here's what's included:

-- One red No. 1409 Alfa Romeo Type 33. The front wings have been rebuilt and the body touched up where they join. Both the front and rear posts are cracked, but they will hold the chassis screws. Body has some wear, but the car and chassis make a nice runner.

-- One yellow No. 1389 Mercury Cougar. The body is very nice with just slight chrome wear on the corners of the bumpers. The body posts are perfect.

-- 12 9-inch radius curved track sections.

-- One 9-inch straight bridge track section, which allows the track elevation to change.

-- 15 9-inch straight track sections.

-- One 9-inch straight terminal track section.

-- Two early Aurora T-jet thumb-button hand controllers.

-- Several bridge pier sections, along with round bridge section extensions.

-- One Aurora DC-10 T-jet transformer.

The included track will build the set layout on the box -- which is more 24 feet of slot car action.

The set box has some shelf wear and tape on one corner, but it still displays very strongly. This is one of Aurora's best sets ever.

Note that locks and joiners for the track sections are not included. Also, the original guardrail sections and instruction booklet are not included.
