Vintage Lucite Embedded Chess Pieces Radio...Eames Era

I haven't seen one of these...EVER!  It is an AM Radio with 5 plastic/lucite? chess pieces embedded on the top of the unit and the lucite on top is 1/4" thick!  The radio itself measures 7" x 3" x 2 1/4".  The bottom/radio part is made of a heavy plastic material.  The top lucite does have scratches but I would suspect can be rubbed (considerably) out with the right technique.  The radio even works to AM stations only.  Made by Windsor Industries Inc.  Plainview, New York  Made in Hong Kong.  Snap off battery compartment (comes with battery).  This radio won't be seen again for a very long time as I can see why no one would give it up! A true collector's gotta-have item!  What a conversation piece.  Thank you for visiting and good luck to you.
