About this nonprofit: The mission of Kenyas Kids in Need, Inc, is to help impoverished children, in the slums of Nairobi. We accomplish this through child sponsorship, projects to improve the educational environment, health and nutrition, and providing orphanages for homeless children. Through education we can improve their quality of life, breaking the cycle of poverty and providing brighter futures. Please join KKIN in helping these children in need.

This San Francisco band's first album is a study in contradictions, presenting heavy, often melancholy, themes in the guise of catchy, tuneful power pop. The irresistible single "Semi-Charmed Life" is just one example of Kevin Cadogan and Stephan Jenkins' agile lyrical stylings. The delirious tempo aptly reflects both a high feeling and a sense of desperation, of things spinning out of control. The album is chock full of searching lyrics set against a background of lush, rhythmic music. "How's It Going To Be" has a palpable sense of nostalgia and loss. The funky "I Want You" expresses a yearning for connection: "Children love to sing but then their voices/Slowly fade away/People always take a step away/From what is true/That's why I like you around/I want you."

Kenya's Kids in Need is having this auction to raise exam fee funds for Galilee Primary School and Waddington High located in the Kayole-Soweto slums outside Nairobi,Kenya. At the completion of both primary and secondary school students in Kenya take the national Certificate Exams. These exams are extremely important as the results determine who can go on to receive a higher education. The cost of registering for the exams is prohibitive for the majority of our families who live on less than a dollar a day. Many of our families live in one room, tin sheet huts without electricity or running water. What little income they might make goes for the basics like providing a meal a day for their family. . They struggle to send their children to school and the children struggle to receive an education. Education is their path out of poverty and Kenya's Kids In Need wants to make sure their hard work is rewarded by assuring every eligible student is able to take the exams
Kenya’s Kids In Need a 501 (c )(3), is completely volunteer run. All items for the auction have been donated so 100% of the proceeds (after eBay and Paypal fees) will go to support the children being served at Galilee Primary School , Waddington High School , and the Holly House orphanages.
