D Christensen Glass Bead, Swarovski & Sterling Bracelet

This is a 7 1/4 inch bracelet, which fits perfectly on my average size wrist.  These amazing beads by American Glass Artist Dave Christensen are variously called "cane" or "furnace" glass.  Most of them are multicolored, some in rainbows, some in solid colors, some in dichroic glass.   Here they are paired with the new Swarovski rondels in "Crystal Silver Shadow" color.  The sterling clasp is secure & magnetic; it was made in Italy.  When the two ends of the bracelet get close to each other, they just jump together, and there is never a struggle to fasten this bracelet.

Inside the larger holes in the Dave Christensen beads (which is most of them) are Czech copper lined glass beads.  These match the "goldstone" (very tiny suspended particles of copper) that Dave Christensen uses in many of his gorgeous beads.  You will find the Czech beads are not as noticable in reality as they are in the photograph.

Between each glass bead is a sterling daisy spacer made in India.  No crimps or wires ever show on any of my jewelry, instead the clasp is held by tiny, 1890's French metal beads.  These look good with the silver now, and also age well with sterling silver.

It is a good value.  I sold many bracelets of Dave Christensen glass at the Iron Door Gallery in Murphys, California, back when it was owned by the original five women artists.  Those bracelets all had nice sterling clasps, but they did not fasten themselves as this great Italian sterling magnetic clasp does.  I am keeping my bracelet price steady while incorporating a clasp that is about 3 times more expensive than the older ones.
