Acculap pitch for telescope making 2 ea.
Acculap is a new type of pitch for polishing glass. It is an alternative to traditional pitches like Gugolz. This material is highly stable and consistent, does not dry out like standard pitch.
I have used this pitch with excellent results. One can even take an old lap, re-melt and use it again without fear of altering its hardness.

There is one nice feature I like and that is it is clear. When polishing with the lap on top, one can see the slurry and bubbles slosh through the channels. It is easy to judge when to add more liquid as polishing continues and the lap gets too dry.

This hardness grade is called "Flat CP 1" which corresponds to the familiar Gugolz 73. Generally amateur telescope makers would use Gugolz 73 in the summer and Gugolz 64 in the winter. This type would work fine in the summer months, or any time for that matter.

These two packages are sealed and have not been opened. Each package contains .74 lbs (1/3 kg)
