The Emperor is very concerned about fashion. So, when two great "artistes" glide into his palace with letters of recommendation from the best dressed leaders of the world, he fires his trusty old tailor and hires them. The "artistes" immediately set to work creating the most exquisite garments ever seen by human eyes. These garments are so fine that only those who are very smart and clever, and fit to hold office in the royal court, will be able to see them....

The Lovers
Charlie, the spinning top, is hopelessly in love with Martina, the beautiful ball, who is made of kid gloves. When Charlie finally builds up his courage to ask Martina out for a walk, she informs him that she is engaged to Mr. Stevenson, the debonair sparrow, who lives in the tree. One day Martina disappears and Charlie thinks she is living happily up in a tree somewhere with Mr. Stevenson. Charlie is heartbroken and decides that he will never love again. But is Martina happy? Does Charlie really know where she is?

The Old Street Lamp
The Old Street Lamp has worked very hard all his life and now it is time to retire. He overhears the watchman say that he might be pulled up and melted for scrap metal. The wind-cloud and the falling stars give him magical retirement gifts. All he needs to do to bring his gifts to life is for someone to light his candle....
