Works on all ancient to current year Lanc model cams as well - Powers up in tape mode (VTR/VCR external video mode) by default on the new model Sony's ie. DCR-HCxx mini DV series  and also will work in camcorder mode (internal video) if desired.  This is a must have for all helmet-cammers...to allow you to stow away your camcorder completely.  We haven't see any other manufacturers that can do this. 

DVD models are not recommended for stow away applications, although functional (record, stop...), some require a record session setup from the touchscreen.

Do they work with bulletcams or other external video sources? ..i.e. vtr mode.  Do they display the camcorders recording, battery status, low tape, etc.? Hi intensity LED indicator easily seen in bright sun? Safe in the rain?  Still works if you change camcorder models in the future?  Forget about 1.4, 1.6, 1.8.
