Wrought Iron Fencing, Estate Fence, Antique 1880's

 This is a rare opportunity to purchase up to 240 feet of turn of the century wrought iron fencing. This was originally installed around 1880 at a cemetery in SE Wisconsin. I am selling it by section, so you can buy exactly what you need for your project.
 
The fence sections are approx eight feet in length and four feet high. The pickets are spaced about 5 inches apart, 19 pickets per section. They are made from 1/2 inch square stock and are tapered to a square point on each picket. The center picket on each section  extends about 4 inches longer on the bottom to provide support.  Some of the lower center pickets are in better condition than others. I estimate almost 100 lbs. each.
 
This is real 120 year old iron fence. True wrought iron has not been manufactured in volume since the late 1890’s. Its ability to resist rust due to its chemical composition makes it superior to anything produced in the last century. Unfortunately this material that has been lost to history due to more “efficient” manufacturing processes.
 
This fence has been through 120+ Wisconsin winters and is showing some age in places. Much of it has a thin layer of surface rust and a few of the pickets have eroded at the bottom due to decades of street salting (mostly the longer center ones). Sections will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
 
It is unusual that this quantity of (matching) fencing comes available at one time. It’s probably equally unusual to be able to buy as much or as little as you need.  In all my past searching I have not found an opportunity to purchase a “buyer specific” amount of fence of this quality and vintage.
 
You may never see another opportunity to purchase real, old, iron fencing like this and at far less than antique or dealer pricing. Don’t miss your chance to get exactly the amount of fence you need for a very reasonable price.
