Henry Jaglom's Eating.

At a fashionable house party in Southern California, a parade of women mingle in joint celebration of their friends' milestone birthdays: Kate ahs just tuned 30, Helene is 40, and Sadie will soon be 50. When Helene's houseguest Martine - a sexy French filmmaker - turns her camera on the partygoers, discussions go from light and airy to heartfelt and personal. Playfully musing on their body image hang-ups, eating disorders, relationships, and a conformist society obsessed with beauty, even the group's untouched slices of cake provide insight into the love-hate relationship between femmes and food. As one guest confesses: "I'm still looking for a man who can excite me as much as a baked potato."

Loosely scripted and voyeuristically crafted in a cinema verite style to allow its actresses to be spontaneous and honest, Henry Jaglom's Eating is a hilarious and thought-provoking smorgasbord of "biting" observations!
