Recorded on September 8 & 9, 1992. Includes liner notes by Gene Lees. More than 50 years on from her first recordings, Peggy Lee seems to be an ever-evolving musical spirit. Recorded in 1992, MOMENTS LIKE THIS finds Lee performing both songs from her earlier days, and self-penned compositions. Her voice has lost some of the weightless lilt it possessed in past times, but what remains reaffirms the rare artist she has always been. Reprises of standards such as "I Don't Know Enough About You" and "Always True in My Fashion" are as spirited as her first masterly renditions, with an added air of familiarity that adds to the songs' humor. "Why Don't You Do Right," her signature tune, and the Lee-penned ballad "Remind Me," are performed more softly and quietly than previously, but after half a century of beautiful blues, Peggy Lee's sound uplifts as much as ever.
