YOU ARE LOOKING AT A BEAUTIFUL EMBROIDERED HUMERAL VEIL IN IVORY COLOURED WATERED SILK, WITH A RED SILK LINING. (this is a scarf that goes over a benediction cope) IT HAS A LARGE HOOK AND EYE BUT NO CHAIN FASTENING. THERE ARE NO POCKETS INSIDE..

IT MEASURES 8 FEET LONG X 20INCHES DEEP.

THE EMBROIDERY IS EXQUISITE, AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION,  BEAUTIFULLY WORKED IN METALIC GOLD THREAD AND SILKS. THE COLOURS ARE STILL STRONG AND DESPITE ITS AGE, THE GOLD IS UNTARNISHED, JUST SLIGHTLY FADED. IT IS TRIMMED ALL THE WAY AROUND WITH GOLD METAL TRIM AND FRINGING, WHICH IS IN FAIR CONDITION.

THE VEIL ITSELF IS TIRED. THERE ARE TWO SPLITS IN THE SILK THAT I CAN SEE, ONLY SMALL, AND AT ONE END, THIS COULD BE CUT OFF AND THE VEIL SHORTENED BY A FEW INCHES. THE SILK IS GRUBBY AROUND THE NECK AND DOWN THE FRONT. IT IS STILL A BEAUTIFUL ITEM AND IT COULD BE USED, OR THE EMBROIDERY FRAMED FOR A COLLECTION. HOURS OF WORK HAVE GONE INTO THIS WONDERFUL EMBROIDERY.
