John Deere Briggs & Stratton Vertical 24HP V twin NEW!

Hello and thanks for looking. Up for auction is a brand new Briggs & Stratton vertical V-Twin engine for a John Deere riding lawnmower application. I bought this engine to repower my Ariens zero turn single cylinder mower, but have decided that it's just too much work for me to modify the primary exhaust tubes, and to fabricate a new mount in an effort to re-size the Ariens frame bolt pattern. I had hoped that a riding lawnmower engine would fit the zero turn, but it's just too much fabrication for me to perform the engine conversion.

This engine was purchased at the John Deere scratch and dent sale. As the pictures show, is has a dented right side valve cover, and there's a small crack on the air filter cover. (see pictures) The air filter cover has been changed (probably because it was cracked) and reads 20 horsepower. My research performed by Briggs and Stratton tells me that this engine is in the 24 horsepower range, due to the engine being a 44 cubic inch displacement. A 20 HP engine is a smaller 40 CID motor. You should do your own homework using the Model, Type, and Code. Here goes:

This engine is brand new. It has no oil in the crankcase, and has never been fired. I can't give a warranty on it due to the fact that it's out of it's 2 year warranty, but did I mention that it's brand new? I can guarentee that the shipping will be free to the lower 48 States, unless you'd like insurance. The package will weigh close to 100 pounds, and will be shipping UPS ground. I need to let it be known that this engine has no exhaust manifold/ muffler assembly. What you see is everything that it comes with. It also has a 4 wire engine electrical connector, although the pigtail connection is a rectangular 6-pin (2 pins are empty).
