With many inclusions from his personal journal, this life story of Marion G. Romney brings to light the heart and soul of this humble servant of God. Born in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, in 1897, he haad a childhood of hardship and toil. As a young man he read slowly and memorized with difficulty, and he never overcame his fear of public speaking. Despite these problems, or perhaps because of them, he worked diligently to secure a good education and to overcome personal weaknesses. In all capacities- as missionary, husband, father, home teacher, neighbor, attorney, bishop, stake president, Assistant to the Twelve, Apostle, and councelor in the First Presidency- he conciously sought to live the Christlike life. As an Assistant to the Twelve he fasted once a week over a seven-year period, asking the Lord to purge every desire and ambition theat might stand in the way of his worthiness to act in the calling he had recieved. This typifies the commintment of Elder Marion G. Romney. This hardback with dustjacket is in good condition there is a name and inscription in the front cover with the authors AUTOGRAPH. |
