EDITH HEAD MOVIE COSTUME CATALOG HEPBURN CRAWFORD 1940s

This is an original museum catalog from an exhibit of multi-Oscar winning film costume designer Edith Head’s work at the California Museum of Science and Industry in 1976. The pages are in good condition but are separated from the plastic spine.  It possibly could be reattached.  Page size is 9” x 12”.  There are 14 pages printed on both sides (total of 28 printed sides).  A previous owner’s calling card is pasted on the blank inside front cover.

There is an introduction to Edith Head’s work, several pages of black and white photos of actors wearing Head’s designs, and sketches of designs.  Featured movie stars are Olivia deHavilland, Hedy La Marr, Bette Davis, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Lucille Ball, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Claudette Colbert, Dorothy Lamour, Ginger Rogers, Joan Bennet, Mae West, Harpo Marx, John Barrymore, Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, Danny Kaye, Gloria Swanson, Katherine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Natalie Wood, Carole Lombard, and Ava Gardner.  There is also a transcript of an interview with Edith Head on January 28, 1976 done in her office at Universal Studios by Carolyn Benesh.
