Selling as found together.
The letter opener, all metal, measures 8 1/2" long. Manufactured by the J.E. Mergott Co. Newark, New Jersey. Front and back of the handle has added advertising plaque tightly affixed: THE BRISTOL TRUST CO. OPPOSITE THE POST OFFICE "YOU CAN BANK ON US".
The letter opener was found in a cotton money pouch. It is in good shape except for a small hole in the fabric near the bottom of the bag.
