#14372 Leaded Glass Carved Step Back China Cabinet





 

We are listing this impressive carved oak step back cupboard cabinet to you today. Dating from the 1890’s, this item has absolutely gorgeous features—a captivating stained leaded glass door on top, wonderful carved pillars with excessive carvings, a detailed pillar carved molded base with beautiful paneled and carved doors.  In the center door on the top, there is a charming period style stained glass leaded door with a few little age cracks here and there, which are hardly noticeable and we think it adds character to the lovely piece.  The door opens up to reveal a shelf interior.  The outside columns are all multi turn rounded point block and has a dainty little finial in the center of the open archways that has a raised panel back.  You can see where there was a shelf that screwed on at one time on the backboard up top that is not there anymore.  The top is crown molded, has exquisite carvings across the crest, and comes down into a beautiful ogee double base.  The base has three heads across the top, two men and a maiden, gorgeous hand cut dovetailed carved drawers, two finely detailed carved picture frame doors, and beautiful multi turn solid oak posts.  It has been refinished within the last thirty years or so in a rich medium oak stain color, which looks really nice and is set to go into your home.  The overall size at the widest point at the base of the cabinet is 48 inches wide, 23 inches deep, and 41 inches high to the base cabinet.  The overall height is 76 1/2 inches.  The top cabinet is 15 inches deep.  It is truly an impressive cabinet, which sports all of its original hardware.  It does not come with a key, but the lock is there.  We are unable to guarantee that the locks work, since they usually have to be professionally cleaned.  The overall condition is excellent on this absolutely stunning leaded glass carved cupboard, which would look great in your home.
