Report itemAs a publicist for Michael Jackson (working for his PR firm, Solters/Roskin/Friedman), I collected the following items from my responsibilities with promoting the "Bad" tour, 1987-1989: * "I Need it Bad" pin used to publicize the upcoming album (1.25 in. round) * Nonchalant silver all-access pin for tour personel (1.25 in round) * 11/14/88 working crew badge -- I shuttled small groups of the 100s of photographers who covered the first show in L.A. from backstage to the stage pit all night long. Interesting way to see the show! Had to keep my eye on my watch and the photographer's actions (they only had a certain amount of time in the pit), but I also had the chance to watch the great audience from the performer's perspective. * 11/21/88 -- Michael insisted on every member of the publicity staff having the opportunity to see the show as a member of the audience. This ticket stub is a memory of my opportunity! May have been the "Bad" tour, but what a THRILLER! * 1/16/89 working crew badge -- A family emergency kept me from working with the show worldwide (at least physically), but I was back working at the return L.A. engagement on this day. This time, mostly handling interviews backstage. * Also included are two of the many press releases that I wrote regarding the album and tour: the first being the announcement of the first nine shows, to be held in Tokyo, Osaka and Yokohama, Japan. The second provides a mini wrap-up of the progress of the first leg of the tour and plans for the second leg, which began in the fall of 1988. Also announcement that "Dirty Diana" is 5th #1 single from the album. This release isn't dated -- on purpose; we used it throughout the summer -- but it came out around June of 1988. I would be glad to provide a copy of my business card from Solters/Roskin/Friedman. Lee Solters was the head of Michael's publicity, so was the contact on the releases. I was the "ghost-writer" and credential coordinator.
