Item specifics
Condition: NewMaterial: Red Oak

This 5' peg triloom (hypotenuse = 60 inches) has been built from locally harvested Red Oak and finished with a durable hand-rubbed oil stain to enhance its color and tone.   It will receive a hand-polishing with natural beeswax to give it a satiny lustre prior to shipping.  The birch pegs are not finished or treated so that they grip the fibers during weaving without snagging or fraying the fibers, and the finished weaving can be easily slid off.  They extend 1" beyond the frame so there is plenty of room to weave, and to double weave.  Double weaving (weaving one triangle on top of another) is used to make ponches and blankets.

Items that weavers typically weave on a 5' triloom are shawls, wraps, and ruanas.

Basic "continuous loop" triloom weaving instructions are included.

I build trilooms from 18" to 8' from a variety of hardwoods and will be listing others in the near future.
