• Tips : 5/8" below nocks. Iron wood burl, Northern California.
• Shelf : Laminated leather, earthtone and black combined.
• String : Flemish twist, B-50, yellow/white, serving - diamond black.
• Finish : Thunderbird.

  This bow had a natural  reflex of 1 1/2".  I heat tempered the bow and it will only retain about 50% back set once inner fibers are under tension and compression. The tempering process insured limb profile, keeping stored energy. The bow was a great candidate for a flight bow. That was not the original goal though, I was looking for dependable target and hunting bow. This bow has a flat belly. trapezoid cross section, along it's back, which helps to impart speed. The edges are rolled for a smooth transition. The nocks are Burl Ironwood, a rich sable brown with black swirls throughout. I  topped it off with 6 coats of Thunderbird, then laminated 6 pieces of different colored leather for effect and performance, wrapped the handle and applied the striker. Other than nock placement., this bow is shoot ready.

  F.Y.I. : I am often asked why I sell these bows so cheap when others ask 5 times the price. If it had not been for an elder from a Local Tribe I may have never had the luxury of working with such a precious species of wood.. Yew has been used for 4,000+ years for bow making. I consider it a true honor to preserve the craft of my forefathers.
  I enjoy the hunt as much as the next guy, but for me the history and creative outlet are equally, if not more, important. With times as tough as they are, I feel the need to give back, especially with the Holiday season approaching. What comes around , goes around, Thanks Jeff.
