CD CONDITION: Each disc has a few, very minor surface scratches (more so CD 2, then CD 1), but the discs play fine.

PROGRAM NOTES: This 2-CD, 2 hour radio show coincided with the release of Hard At Play, but the show dedicates a great portion to Huey’s career up to that point.  The interviews on this show find Huey Lewis at his very best: entertaining, funny, very open and ever the optimist.  Huey “thought it would be neat if this was one of the few albums this year [1991] in which all of the music on the inside is recorded exclusively by all of the people pictured on the outside.”  Huey also recounts for us his travels through Europe as a harmonica playing teenager and takes us back to San Francisco for the Formation of the News.  You’ll also learn of his meeting with Nick Lowe who helped get him his first record deal, the true story behind the hit single “I Want A New Drug” and how his involvement with the movie hot Back To The Future gave him his first number one hit.  Huey also delves into this longtime association with Bruce Hornsby and his plans for the future, plus a whole lot more.  You’ll hear songs old and new on this show.  This was the only Up Close radio show in CD format on Huey Lewis, so now’s your chance to get a hold of a great and informative collectible.  The covers of the CDs are customized.  Whether you're a Huey Lewis fan or simply enjoy great music, you’ll enjoy this show!

These days, most radio shows are downloaded by the radio station, so CD radio shows will soon be a thing of the past.  As such, they are getting harder to find on eBay as collectors are holding on to their shows.  I am simply selling these as a collector. This is a great show for your collection, especially as it is rarely sold on eBay complete with jewel case and cues.    

RADIO SHOW BACKGROUND INFO:

Radio shows are typically in a Rockumentary-style and include music and rare interviews between the music.  The CD(s) were professionally produced and distributed only to radio stations.  Limited copies were made (probably well under 500), so they are bound to increase in value with time.  As such, you won’t find these for sale in big retailers and very doubtful you will ever find them in a local specialty/indie music store.  Fans of the featured artists or music fans in general will really enjoy these shows.  A great opportunity to learn more about your favorite artists!

Up Close started in the mid eighties and ran until 2004, when it was cancelled due to not being able to find enough advertizing sponsors.  Up Close was probably one of the best of the radio shows with each show being unique.  The Up Close shows usually coincided with the release of a new album by the featured artist. 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The discs are NOT homemade copies, but the genuine discs professionally made and once used by a radio station.  They are NOT bootlegs, counterfeits, copies, or any other unauthorized items. They are simply being sold as a collector's item.  The discs in this auction have been tested and play great.  Sometimes the radio producer marks the cues (like check marks).  The cues are usually folded, which is how they were originally sent.  This is a no-reserve auction.  I’m selling some of my stuff to make room for other things, as well as anticipating a move in the next year or two.

Payment Due: Paypal within 10 business days.  Ebay will be notified of non-paying bidders. 

Shipping/Handling Time: Usually within 1 to 3 business days upon cleared payment. 

Multiple Auction Wins: Will combine shipping.  Please wait for invoice. 

Shipping Options (USA): The United States Postal Service (USPS): First Class/Media Mail, Priority Mail, and Express Mail. 

Shipping Options (International): First Class International, Priority Mail International (Flat Rate Envelope), and Express Mail International. 

Insurance (International):  Is available only for International Priority Mail and International Express Mail.  Unfortunately, the U.S. Post Office charges a lot for this service.  Some amount of insurance is already included with this option.  Contact me for exact details.  If security is an issue, consider purchasing registered mail, which is kept under lock and key.  When combined with First Class International, it is usually cheaper than International Priority or International Express Mail. 

Registered Mail: Available upon request.  $11.50 is the cost.  Not included with Express mail and it is an additional cost to the shipping.  This mail is kept under lock and key and must be signed for.  A good option if security is a priority for you. 

Customs/Duties: All taxes and customs expenses are the responsibility of the buyer.  It is a felony to understate or misrepresent information on a customs form. 

Returns: All sales final as CDs can be copied.  Exceptions would be a major mistake on my part.  Sold “as is.” 

The shipping includes the postage plus the cost of boxes, padded envelopes, packaging tape, the cost of online delivery confirmation (U.S. only), and other packaging supplies.  In fairness to all bidders, I do not accept best offer bids.  I strive to leave positive feedback upon successful receipt of payment.  I don’t hold you hostage like some sellers do.  If you have any doubts, check my feedback.
