Offered on auction at $9.99 with no reserve is this 17 piece antique childs ironstone tea set with a purplish-blue roses floral transfer. The set is in excellent clean condition. I found no chips, flakes or cracks. The only thing to mention is the lid on the sugar was missing when I purchased it at an estate sale. I had a small childs lid at home that fit very good and has the same shape finial as the teapot lid. The transfer is different, but doesn't look that bad. Also, the lid has a crackline (see close-up). The set is signed on the bottoms of the saucers and the 2 larger serving plates. They are impressed "P&B Best". I could not find any information about the mark. The set includes the teapot w/lid, sugar & different lid, creamer, 5 cups & saucers and the 2 larger serving plates. The teapot stands approx. 5" high. The 2 larger plates are 5" handle side to handle side, and the cups are 2" high and 2 1/2" across the tops, and the saucers are 4 3/8" across. This set is looks to be from around 1880 to 1900. The set weighs 3 1/2 pounds.
