YT5579 PP 091408 MERRILEE RUSH With Rare Earth Bass Player AT: DOTTY WEST FEST McMinnville, TN 1996 MERRILEE RUSH and RARE EARTH were part of a concert at McMinnville's community celebration which celebrates the life of country music star, and McMinnville native, DOTTY WEST. I'm not certain, because I know he has passed away, but I believe the bass player is JOHN PERSH. Merrilee's rendition of "Angel of the Morning" climbed to #7 in the US charts in 1968, and reportedly reached No. 1 in seven other nations...garnered Rush a Grammy Nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year. She was nominated alongside Grammy royalty in Barbra Streisand (Funny Girl), Dionne Warwick (Do You Know the Way to San Jose), Aretha Franklin (I_Say_a_Little_Prayer), and Mary Hopkin (Those Were the Days). MERRILEE RUSH appeared on numerous television shows in the 60s and 70s, including American Bandstand, The Joey Bishop Show, Happening, The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, The Everly Brothers Show, Something Else hosted by John Byner, and many more. You are bidding on a 4 x 6 glossy photo; marked on the back with name of film company and dated (July 22, 1996); ink pen notes of mine trying to get the spelling of Merillee correct ~ the "do not copy" label is NOT on the actual photo...this my original photo and it is in EXCELLENT condition.
