KCS RAILROAD CHINA Demi CUP & SAUCER Syracuse ROXBURY


Up for auction with No Reserve is a beautiful vintage demitasse (also known as an A.D. or After Dinner) cup & saucer in the " ROXBURY " Pattern. Roxbury was a stock pattern used by the Kansas City Southern Railway.

Note this is an early version with the red pinstripes as seen in pictures on early KCS timetables. Pattern KCS-2 ROXBURY Ref. Luckin's Dining on Rails pg. 182. Pattern was used circa 1934 up until end of passenger service 1969.

Excellent, mint condition. No chips, cracks, crazing or use scratches. Cup unmarked. Saucer marked with the Econo-Rim backstamp & date coded to 1937. Cup measures approx. 2 1/4" tall & 2 1/2" across mouth. Saucer measures 4 3/8" diameter.
