RARE Old Chinese Blanc De Chine Hotei Buddha Figure !NR

We are pleased to offer an unusual antique Chinese porcelain Buddha figure! I believe this old Asian guy is circa 1900 vintage & he is he’s is quite magnificent (marked by maker on bottom)! The god of contentment and happiness, Hotei usually has a cheerful face (not in this case) and a big belly. Hotei is happy because he is well fed (indicated by his great girth), wealthy and can afford to be generous. He brings happiness to others through his appearance and rubbing his belly is supposed to bring luck. The detail of his face & robes is Great! The unusual open mouth (screaming or praying?) has me confused. If someone can tell me the meaning of the pose, I’ll add it to the listing. This old god is fine & perfect (no chips, cracks, or restoration)! The figure measure 12 ½” tall. This is not one of the new “Knock off” repros & we have never had another like him in 35 years of collecting! We have not placed a reserve on this old oriental Buddha, so bid away!
