Here is a complete collection of vintage 1940’s cartoon
posters that have been beautifullymounted and framed. These comic character posters were used by local
theaters to promote the Saturday matinees which, to attract children, included
cartoons.
The entire collection consists of 7 different posters but we
are selling each poster individually. All 7 have been professionally mounted,
matted and framed and are ready to display.
The visible portion of the Porky Pig poster is about 21.5” x
21.5” and with the matt and frame it is 27 1/2” x 271/2”. It is in excellent
overall condition. There is a minor spot on Porky’s forehead and there is a
dark spot by the R on the left by the matt. The colors are bright and intense.
These framed comic characters would make an outstanding
display in any room of your home. Each poster may contain various minor
blemishes and creases, or spots, so please look closely at each of the photos.
These were matted and framed as we found them and each frame is the same size,
27 ½” x 27 ½”. We have not retouched anything. These look to me as if they are silk-screened on a heavy
paper stock. These 70-year-old posters may not be mint and perfect, but they
are incredibly unique and make an outstanding display.
Please see my other auctions. The 7 posters include Mickey
Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Porky Pig, Tom & Jerry, Sylvester the cat and
Woody Woodpecker.
