This piece came from the late Naval Captain S. Filippone and Ruth Filippone’s Estate. The Captain and Ruth traveled the world. There were many tours through out the late 1940’s and early 1960’s in many countries. Including a Diplomatic tour in Pakistan from 1957 to 1960. The Filippone’s traveled the world during these tours. They brought back many treasures including art, dolls, décor, paper and such when they returned to the USA. After retirement from the Navy (Captain) and from National Airlines (Ruth), they settled to a small ranch in Texas. They raised Arabian horses and Ruth showed her large doll collection (over 400 plus) from around the world in local shows and in the Children’s area of Baylor Hospital. Her name is written on many of her dolls. The Filippone’s great adventures and various interests will show through out the next months in the estate pieces we will feature for auction. Enjoy a step back in time and adventures around the world.
