I owned a Brick and Mortar Antique Store in the 1990's. I have closed my store and have sold on eBay for over 10 years. I have loved and collected antiques for 33+ years, and love finding that item you need to decorate your home and/or add to your collection.

I am a part-time ebayer and am not online all the time. Please know that I will reply to any emailed questions, and always check emails a few hours before the auctions end.

I am not an expert at everything sold, and I do not pretend to be. All items are sold as-is described/photoed. I inspect them when I photo and take pictures of damage found. I inspect again when I list, and attempt to disclose any known flaws or imperfections. If you see something not described, please let me know.

Spent a very cold and wet 10 days selling items at the 2009 Covered Bridge Festival in Western Indiana. I love collectors though!!!, as they still came out in droves and I enjoy meeting my customers as much as I enjoy hearing from them on eBay.

Since the weather was "iffy" I decided to save my best items for my eBay Holiday auctions. I know that the holidays seem far away, but I will not sell past the 2nd week of December and I have LOTS of high quality items to sell. I save my best items every year for my Holiday sales.

This week I am selling an eclectic assortment, several wonderful Art Deco Name China pieces, will arrive in plenty of time for Thanksgiving! along with some very unique items, suitable for gift giving. You never know what I might find to sell, so make sure and check out my other auctions.


ITEM DESCRIPTION

This auction is for a vintage art deco pink flamingo wall mirror, an incredible accent for many different decors, from a casual beach or garden room to a retro decor, hanging over the top of a dresser, mantle, bathroom sink, anywhere a mirror is needed to lighten or brighten up your decor, see picts.

This was purchased from the original owner, at her moving sale, prior to her moving into the nearby retirement home. 

This is a large mirror, measuring approx.  34 1/4 by 22 1/2 inches.  The visible wooden frame is thin, not detracting from the large glass mirror, and the original paint is silver in color.  The backside of the wooden frame is approx. 1 inch thick, providing support for the glass; this is a nice sturdy wood framed mirror.    The mirror is secured in place with metal clips, surface dirt/rust that could be cleaned on the clips, consistent with the age of the mirror. 

This mirror is the largest one of these that I was able to find listed; so large that I could not position it without it reflecting something in my room.  Most of the pictures show the handing ceiling fixture and ceiling cap, see picts.  This is not damage to the mirror, just a demonstration of how a mirror can make a room seem much larger then what it really is. 

I did not see an artist's signature on the artwork, but the pink flamingos are beautiful, the largest one in flight, with a beautiful black trim on large outstretched pink wings.   Spanish moss is hanging from a tree branch and a tropical plant sprouts from the bottom of the frame, see picts. 

This mirror is not perfect, but there is no damage to the glass, no chips, cracks or hairlines, see picts.  There are a few small black spots on the mirror, the worst shown, see picts.  This damage is close to the artwork, and does not significantly detract, see picts.  I am leaving any restoration up to the new owner as it could always be touched up from the backside of the mirror, see picts. 

The mirror is considered in over all good condition, there is some paint missing from the wooden frame, but considered in good condition for the age of this mirror.   Lots of pictures so collectors or decorators can decide condition and also see how great this piece will look hanging on your wall.   The hanging wire is still attached to the back, and the backing has had some cardboard added, see picts. 
 
The flamingo artwork is believed to be a lithograph or decal applied to the glass, see picts.  These mirrors were very popular from the late  1940’s thru the early 1960’s, and have seen a resurgence in popularity.  This is your chance to own an "original" instead of an inferior reproduction.

This auction lot will weigh 10 pound, packed to ship, but will be require an oversized box to ship it safely.  It will be mailed/shipped from zip code 47869. The eBay shipping cost estimator does not seem to be working for packages going to the Western United States. If the postage seems too high and you are not comfortable calcing it yourself, PLEASE send me your zip code and I will be happy to send you shipping cost information.

I am told that my descriptions are too wordy, and that I describe minimal damage that should be expected in antique items. They are probably right, as this is an antique/vintage item and wears it's age well. Please check the pictures though and make sure that I did not miss any minor flaw that you might notice. Also notice, in the pictures how wonderful this item is.

I normally use UPS Shipping, and zip code on file at ebay. UPS will not ship to a PO Box. Insurance (up to $100) is included in the UPS price. I will combine items, if possible, for shipping. I ship USPS International Priority Mail anywhere outside of the US. I cannot ship International First Class as it does not allow me to insure items and I am now required by eBay to insure all items.
