VINTAGE Fisher Price LITTLE PEOPLE # 997 VILLAGE 100%

Here I am offering this # 997 PLAY FAMILY VILLAGE sold in 1973-1977 complete INCLUDING the VHTF (and expensive) mail and FREE SHIPPING. It is absolutely authentic with the correct people and other accessories. Billed when first sold as the "Biggest play center ever built for the Little People", the Village lays claim to the most accessories of any Little People set (not counting the letters and numbers of the 923 School as accessories). The only flaws I see that are more than normal play wear is a small missing piece from the mailbox litho (picture 5) and a white streak on the Barber Shop sign.  All mechanisms work, all doors open and shut (I lubed the sliding overhead doors of the firehouse and garage so they slide smoothly), no splits in the doors, fire bell rings - great siren sound, garage lift raises and lowers.  All the lithos look great and have little or no sign of bubbling or wrinkling and are complete with vibrant color (small water stain on floor of barber shop, picture 14 & streak on sign mentioned above). The gas hose has the nozzle and is nice and bright, no frays.  Click pictures for close-up to determine condition. 

The set opens up to two streets connected by a pedestrian crossover bridge with a working traffic light.  The entire Village folds and snaps shut for easy carrying, with the accessories and people inside.  The Village includes a garage with crank-up auto lift, overhead door that raises and lowers and a gas  pump to fill up the many vehicles in town. Climb the stairs to an apartment with sun deck. Visit the barber shop, but try not to wind up in the cell at the police station with built in jail bunk and a cell door that opens and closes with a screech. Take in a show at the theater with built in seats and afterward go for a treat at the roof-top restaurant. When needed there is a dentist office, post office, and firehouse.
