I owned a Brick and Mortar Antique Store in the 1990's. I have closed my store and have sold on eBay for over 10 years. I have loved and collected antiques for 33+ years, and love finding that item you need to decorate your home and/or add to your collection.

I am a part-time ebayer and am not online all the time. Please know that I will reply to any emailed questions, and always check emails a few hours before the auctions end.

I am not an expert at everything sold, and I do not pretend to be. All items are sold as-is described/photoed. I inspect them when I photo and take pictures of damage found. I inspect again when I list, and attempt to disclose any known flaws or imperfections. If you see something not described, please let me know.

Spent a very cold and wet 10 days selling items at the 2009 Covered Bridge Festival in Western Indiana. I love collectors though!!!, as they still came out in droves and I enjoy meeting my customers as much as I enjoy hearing from them on eBay.

Since the weather was "iffy" I decided to save my best items for my eBay Holiday auctions. I know that the holidays seem far away, but I will not sell past the 2nd week of December and I have LOTS of high quality items to sell. I save my best items every year for my Holiday sales.

This week I am selling an eclectic assortment, several wonderful Art Deco Name China pieces, will arrive in plenty of time for Thanksgiving! along with some very unique items, suitable for gift giving. You never know what I might find to sell, so make sure and check out my other auctions.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

This auction is for one of several pieces of high quality, name brand china, many of them purchased from the same estate, and dated to the 1920's. I am dating these pieces because of the very Art Deco lines found on most of the pieces and a couple, being sold separately, are 'signed' by the original owner, dated 1928.

The original owner liked the textured and decorated silver on silver glaze/finish, kind of like a silver on silver overlay that I have also seen called silver gilt. I have also seen this called "sterling" which may be a pattern name or color used to describe this type of glaze.

This auction is for my favorite piece, perfect as a centerpiece bowl, on a sideboard, or in a china cupboard, anywhere you need a one-of-a-kind accent, see picts. I believe the original owner displayed all her silver/sterling porcelain, and the pieces being sold separately this week would make a wonderful display (please check my other auctions).

The handles are incredible, very deco, formed out of lady's heads or busts, with a flowing, delicate split handle above the head and the bodice or 'neck' of the head forming the lower portion of the handle, very nice.

The inside and the outside of the bowl are completely covered in a textured painted glaze, with the exception of the inside of the base, see picts. The outside rim of the bowl and the base rim is decorated, reminds me of a floral or berry garland, see picts.

This footed pedestal bowl is covered in a silver overlay that I have not seen before. I am not a collector of fine china, but the silver painted porcelain almost could be mistaken as sterling silver, even has a 'patina' that looks like sterling silver. I did not know how best to clean this piece so I am selling it as purchased, complete with 'patina'. The pictures were taken in low light, and the paint does show darker then what it really is. In some of the pictures you can see that the finish is shiny enough to reflect light. The glare is not damage, just reflected light, see picts.

This incredible pedestal bowl is considered in very good condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines found. My research indicates that these types of decorated items have slight wear marks to the silver from unprotected stacking. I have several picts so that you can see this wear, but also how great this pedestal bowl will display.

The round open serving bowl has an approx. diameter of 9 1/4 inches, and measures approx. 12 1/2 inches including the handles. This bowl is almost 5 inches tall. This will make an impressive centerpiece, where ever you use it.

This Lady's Head Pedestal bowl is well marked as a Rosenthal piece, see picts. The bottom of the bowl is marked “Rosenthal Selb - Bavaria", with a crown and sword logo, see picts.

This elegant piece would make a GREAT one-of-a-kind GIFT, this Rosenthal Pedestal Centerpiece Bowl is very hard to find, and very collectible.

This auction lot will weigh 7 pound, packed to ship, and will be shipped via UPS which includes insurance. It will be shipped from zip code 47869. The eBay shipping cost estimator does not seem to be working for packages going to the Western United States. I am told that my descriptions are too wordy, and that I describe minimal damage that should be expected in antique items. They are probably right, as this is an antique/vintage item(s) and wears it's age well. Please check the pictures though and make sure that I did not miss any minor flaw that you might notice. Also notice, in the pictures how wonderful this item is.

I normally use UPS Shipping, and zip code on file at ebay. UPS will not ship to a PO Box. Insurance (up to $100) is included in the UPS price. I will combine items, if possible, for shipping. I ship USPS International Priority Mail anywhere outside of the US. I cannot ship International First Class as it does not allow me to insure items and I am now required by eBay to insure all items.
