While making this stop she met a half-breed Apache Scout named Cougar who gave her an Apache Tears necklace that would give her protection in case of an Apache attack on her journey.

Lane is able to build the love scenes into a furnace that threatens to destroy the reader's very sanity. This is one of the best love stories I have ever read. Words like drama, suspense, intense lovemaking, hatred, and understanding can only begin to describe this novel.
