This is a sports' collector's dream. Three great baseball players on the front page of the people section of the April 10, 1927 Chicago Tribune. The page is yellowing from age but is in tact and mounted on a piece of cardboard and covered with wrap and in good condition. All the writing and pictures are in good condition. Besides a picture of Walter Johnson on crutches for the broken leg that ended his playing career and his son, the picture of Joe McCarthy hired as the Cubs manager, and Ray Schalk, who has just been hired as the manager of the White Sox, there is a picture of an American Horse, Stephen Sanford's Bright Boy, who won the English Grand National. Also, there is a picture of the new Miss America, Jimmie Kenser, the Duke of York getting a haircut, and Princess Henriette of the Netherlands. A great piece of history right in your hands. I will leave it in the package it is now in and let the owner take it frame it. Walter Johnson memorabilia is exceptionally valuable. |
