1 CENT CD: A Fine Frenzy 'One Cell In The Sea'

One review reads 'The first review I ever read on this artist was a negative one and so I passed it up, but after seeing it again somewhere and reading that she says she is influence by Sigur Ros and Keane (2 great bands), I gave her a chance. I don't think she sounds at all like those she says that influence her (Bjork, Radiohead), but it doesn't matter. She has a great sound of her own. She plays the piano and has an excellent voice. The first two times I listened to it, I though, "Eh..." but the more I listened, the more I'd find myself singing it later and wanting to hear it again. It's hard to compare her to anyone else because she really is unique, but familiar at the same time, as corny as that may sound. It's mellow, but with enough feeling and dynamic to make it interesting and pretty. If you like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple---really any cool female singer/songwriters, giver A Fine Frenzy a shot. It's something good during a music drought.      '
