Up for bid is an antique tin and wood baby rattle. It is in excellent condition for it's age. There are some dings to the rattle, a few small pieces of wood have come off near the bottom of the whistle and one of the bells is missing. It's too bad there is one bell missing, this is really a nice piece. The wood is worn nice and smooth and the missing pieces all have a great patina to them. They appear to have been lost early on. The tin rattle has little pieces in it to produce the shaking noise. The three remaining bells are tin with blue glass beads. The top is wood and it too is worn with a great patina. The whistle at the bottom of the handle still works, you just can't blow too hard. Measures approx. 8 1/4" long and 3 3/4" wide. It came from an estate in Newport News, Va. I really have no idea of it's real age. I could not find much info on this particular rattle. Hopefully the pictures will help. Please feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking and good luck.
