This edition of Hans Christian Anderson's Fairy Tales is being issued from Odense, the poet's native town, by the publishing firm of Flensted.

The portrait of Anderson opposite the title-page is reproduced from C.A. Jensen's famous painting (1836)

Leather bound book with gold gilting on front, back and spine. Gold gilt page edges. small area at top of corner is worn but shows very little sign of previous ownership. Owners small name tag on inside. 394pp 6"x4". Slipcase is somewhat worn and slightly soiled.
