One review reads 'Get past the cheesy cover shot (OK, I admit to secretly liking it). The compositions selected meander a bit. The Piston piece starts with an interesting unison, and has colorful moments, but lacks dramatic focus. Similarly, David Baker's "Blues" has some promising phrases, but left me wanting more. On the other hand, you'll enjoy the playful Copland Allegretto. Guaranteed to bring sunlight to an overcast day.'.
