Brown cloth board cover with gold stamping on spine, square and tight, edge wear. Dj has some wear and soiling, edge tearing. For George Britsch, whose biography this is, was a builder (he called himself a carpenter) and his story is the story of the settlement and growth of German Township, Ohio. The Sound of the Hammer spans an amazing 88 years of a life begun in Switzerland, transplanted to a wild America when there were still Indians roaming the Midwest plains, and brought to its close in 1942, in a great prosperous country he had literally helped to build. |
