Vitold Alfonsovich Polonsky (1879 — on January, 5th 1919), the actor. Was
born in 1879. Was
the pupil and the guest (i.e. constantly lived at a grammar school) Nikolaev
Imperial Tsarskoselsky grammar school. Has
ended drama courses of the Moscow theatrical school (1907). To
1916 — the actor of Small theatre. One of the most popular actors of
pre-revolutionary cinema. The first role — prince Andrey (' Natasha Rostova ' —
1915). Executed,
basically, a role of heroes-lovers of high society: ' Brothers Boris and Gleb '
(Boris), ' Irina Kirsanov ' (Boris), ' the Song of triumphing love ' (Evgenie),
' After death ' (Andrey Bagrov), ' Sin Shades ' (Vladislav Zaritsky) — all
1915, ' the Life for a life ' (prince Baratynsky) — 1916, ' At a fireplace '
(Lanin) — 1917, ' the Victim evening ' (the prince Mirsky) — 1918 and others. Executed,
basically, a role of heroes-lovers of high society. Vitold
Polonsky was twice married. The first time on the actress of Small theatre Vere
Nikolaevne Pashennoj (1887–1962) which have become subsequently by the National
actress of the USSR, the winner of the State and Lenin awards. At them daughter
Irina was born. Second
marriage it was married to the actress of Small theatre Olga Gladkovoj. From
this marriage at it daughter Veronica - the future actress of MKhAT Veronica
Polonskaja was born. In
the summer of 1918 film director Peter Ivanovich Chardynin and the Moscow film
businessman Dmitry Ivanovich Haritonov have applied to the people's commissar
of education Lunacharsky: to help group of film workers to leave to Odessa for
shootings. Having obtained the permit, the group has gone to Odessa. In its
structure were Vera Vasilevna Holodnaja, Ivan Mozzhuhin, Vitold Polonsky. In
November, 1918 Odessa has been occupied by armies of Antanty. And
in some months, on January, 5th, 1919, one of the best actors of the Russian
cinema Vitold Polonsky tragically was lost, he has died of a poisoning with
