Greetings!  My name is Rebecca, and I am almost finished with my Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling. I am currently working under (the most friendly) doctorate-level supervisor, Dr. Driscoll, who is a licensed clinical psychologist and has over 30 years of field experience.  He has authored several books, taught at universities, and has a thriving private practice in East Tennessee.   In an effort to become more adept in this new technological world we live in, we came up with the idea of putting counseling sessions on ebay.  My own personal background consists of over ten years in retail management and human resources (hence the interest in "career" counseling), but I have also counseled children, perpetrators of domestic violence, and substance abusers.  I chose to go into counseling, because I really like to help people. 

All services are completely confidential and in accordance with the ethical standards provided by the APA, ACA, and NBCC.  I have completed all of my coursework and passed the National Counselor Exam and my school's comprehensive exam with flying colors.  However, at this point, I am still not licensed.

The counseling sessions that we are providing online work best for people who are not sure of what kind of career they want to go into.  Perhaps you are sitting at home, unhappy with your job, but have no idea what you would be happy doing?  Perhaps you have thought and thought and thought about what you should do with your life?  Perhaps you would like to go to school but worry if it's worth the money?  Although we do not claim to be able to predict the future, the information you will receive will allow you to be able to make a more-informed decision based on your personality and interests. 

The assessment instruments I use include, but are not limited to, the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, both which have been researched and shown to be effective in career counseling.  These same assessments are offered on several online sites, but I have not seen any sites offering the same assessments for less than what I am offering in this listing.  This listing also comes one hour of free telephone counseling if you elect to use it.

Depending on how I can help you best, I will be mailing you out a package of information as well as some forms to complete.  These forms will include a personal data sheet, various assessment instruments, information on confidentiality, information on my credentials, and information on the possible limitations of counseling.  There will also be a return envelope for you to send the paperwork back to me.  It may take as many as two or three hours to fill out this paperwork.  However, obtaining information is a necessary part of counseling, and it will allow us to help you to the best of our abilities.  If you elect, I can also schedule several sessions on the telephone with you to gather information, provided that you have scanned and emailed me a signed copy of my "Informed Consent" page.
