Georgian 15 Ct Gold Demantoid Garnet Ring c1830

A central Almandine Garnet has a green Demantoid Garnet to each side. There is a scrolled wirework setting. The shoulders and shank are hand engraved. The Almandine Garnet is a deep mauve wine colour and the Demantoid Garnets are a rich grass green, they total just under 3/4 Carat.The Ring has been made in 15 Carat Gold.

The design and craftsmanship date this Ring to the Georgian period, circa 1830.

 

 

Sizing, Marks and Condition

The stones and setting is 11mm by 6mm or just over 3/8 inch by 1/4 inch. The Almandine Garnet is 5mm by 4mm and the Demantoid Garnets are each 3mm diameter they test as Garnet and total just under 3/4 Carat. Weight is 1.5g.

Unmarked, tests as 15 Carat Gold.

In very good condition. Showing some minor rubbing to the engraved shank. Will be sent with a new presentation case.
