*****We are not Experts, but we have handled a lot of head vases....so here are SOME Possible ways to tell if you have an enchaned Headvase...(First, before you buy it, ASK THE SELLER!) second, If the picture is fuzzy! Most honest Seller want you to see the item without special lighting that may hide or enhance what is really there, again Ask the Seller for a better picture).
The paint used during that time was usually only a few shades of a bright type of red, some light colors in the 60's, but No Pearlized colors ever, No Plums, and very seldom were the lips in line with the mouth, they NEVER had Angelina Jolie Lips. Nor Highlight Eyeshadows. You have to remember these were to be used to plant or put flowers in, the manufacturer did it as cheaply as they could. If you already bought a vase, look to see if you see brush strokes, there should not be any! If you want to check further, you can wash it with soap and water, that will remove most acrylics paints, if it is Pearlized or oil based rub (VERY SOFTLY) over a tiny area with A COTTON EAR SWAB use Nail Polish Remover, it should take off most of todays paints with out hurting the original paint. (Do not do this over any GOLD areas).
I hope this somewhat helps those with questions. |
