I think this is a White Buffalo Kachina doll but I am certainly no expert here. I found this kachina at a doctors estate it had been stored away. Probably because it had been broken. THE RIGHT LEG AND LEFT ARM HAVE BEEN BROKEN AND GLUED BACK ON. (Pictures #9 & 10) Also, the left horn is broke on the tip. (Picture #11)
The price reflexs these breaks. Even having said all that it is still such a unique piece. Vibrant beautiful colors with different materials in use here. Shells are around the waist and across the chest on a leather strap. Faux fur makes up the hat/cape. Yarn is used but I don't know what the yarn is made of.
Wonderful red, turquoise, black & white shell has been painted for the neck piece and it looks like the same pattern that is on the shaker in his right hand. (Pictures #5 & 6)
Real feathers hang from the horn and the bow. He also has a shell bracelet on the right wrist and a leather wide band bracelet on the left. (Picture #6 & 7)
Also, Picture #8 shows the artist name and a large flower like picture on the bottom. It reads "Kachina by Tony M. Espinoza Holbrook, Arizona. I think this is a Hobi piece but I cannot say for sure.
Thanks for looking!
