They have very thick and short taproot, many of them have two main rootlets, and the long and thin reed. The stems are shaped like wild goose, so usually called goose neck reed, on which there are many crowed bowl-shaped scars on the reeds, with the name of reed bowls. The top of the main taproot, has many thin and close wrinkles, which will go deeper as the age. ★ Cook soup. Soak the ginseng slices for about 20 minutes, braise for 1 hour with small fire, drink the soup, which contains effective elements with high density, and is especially helpful for the weakness after sick, who needs to be nourished immediately. ★ Steam. Put the ginseng slices into porcelain bowl, infuse with water more than half, smother it, and take it into the pot which has been added cold water in, steam it for about 1 hour with slow fire(be cautious not to get the water dried out), drink the soup, usually repeat steaming for 3-5 times, till the ginseng flavor bacomes weak. ★ Slice and make tea. Put the ginseng slices into the vacuum cup, steep it with boiling water, smother it for about half an hour, then drink it as tea. It can be steeped repeatedly till the flavor becomes weak, at last chaw the slices down. This way of taking can be changed into keeping it in the mouth, which means put the ginseng slices into the mouth, suck it slowly, and swallow it when the flavor turns weak.
