Dr. Rodney McKay is played by David Hewlett, and is a character that originated in the parent series, Stargate SG-1.

He joined the expedition to Atlantis as chief scientist advisor and is now a member of Lt. Col. Sheppard’s team.

This highly detailed pewter figurine depicts Dr. Rodney McKay dressed in his grey and navy Atlantis uniform as he explains a scientific theory with the help of his hand-held computer terminal.

McKay is a brilliant scientist but this is only surpassed by his belief in his own brilliance. He is arrogant, condescending and a bit of a hypochondriac. Despite this, he manages to be likable and makes up for his flaws with lightning quick reflexes and the ability to work well under stress, delivering results laced with sarcastic witticisms. McKay is one of the show's most interesting, well-developed, and humorous characters.
