Canadian Pacific Old Time Passenger Cars in Box by Marx

The Louis Marx Toy Company existed from 1919 to 1972, and during the 1950's was the world's largest producer of toys. After 1972, it's various divisions were later taken over by a series of other manufacturers, with the tinplate toy trains eventually being licensed to James and Debby Flynn of Elmhurst, Illinois. This limited boxed set of Canadian Pacific passenger cars was made by them in 1992 according to the certificate enclosed. The outside of the box is in very good condition and even has the Marx logo, the letters MAR in a circle with a large X through it To the best of my knowledge the cars were never run, although they have been removed from the box a number of times, given the wear to the cardboard inside the box. (Notice the tear along the base of the fold-up lid in the first picture.) I believe each of the cars is in near-perfect condition, with no chips, scratches, mars, blemishes or missing pieces, although a very thorough examination might find something amiss that I did not see. I originally bought the set at a train show in the early 1990's with the idea of having a Marx CP tinplate locomotive at the power end of the consist.... but this never happened. They have remained in storage for at least 15 years. The boxed set weighs 2.5 pounds and will be shipped Parcel Post for a flat rate of USA $12.00 to the lower 48 states.
